Improving the public lifts in the Thomas Kemp Tower

Thomas Kemp Tower lift replacement programme starts Monday 29 Nov

The public lifts in the Thomas Kemp Tower at the Royal Sussex County Hospital are being completely replaced. The new lifts will be in the same location but will be quicker, much more reliable and easier to maintain.

During the works, patients and the public will be able to use another brand new lift just around the corner from the ones that are being replaced. There will be signs on every floor pointing the way to the correct lift.

Works will begin on Monday 29th November 2021 and complete in the summer of 2022.

There is an extensive lift replacement programme taking place at both the Royal Sussex County Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital. All the public lifts in the Princess Royal Hospital’s main building have already been renewed as have those in the Millennium Building at the County Hospital. This is just one of the ways we are trying to make it easier for you to get around your hospital.
