Congratulations to healthcare assistant Bronwyn Powell who has won Star of the Month for September after receiving a public nomination.
In total, more than 100 nominations were received in the first month of the refreshed employee recognition scheme.
Out of all those nominations, Bronwyn Powell received the highest score naming her the winner.
A member of the public noticed Bronwyn going above and beyond for a patient. They witnessed Bronwyn whilst on their break notice a patient upset. She stayed and talked with the patient, took the patient for a walk outside in a wheelchair, then returned the next day with the patient’s favourite chocolate bar.
In the nomination they said: “If there were more Bronwyn’s in the world, it would be a happier place, she was remarkable with going above and beyond her duty of care.”
Presenting Bronwyn with her certificate and prize was director of nursing Edmund Tabay, who said: “I am absolutely delighted to be with you today and present you with this award, which is so special and is given to those who really have gone above and beyond.
“The time and attention you gave to your patient is remarkable and this award is truly deserved. Congratulations.”
Well done to all those who were nominated for Star of the Month. Every staff member or team nominated will receive a special ‘thank you’ postcard from our chief executive and chief people officer.
If you know someone who has done something extraordinary, why not nominate them for Star of the Month?
