1. Yes, the Trust provides weight management/bariatric clinics for both children and adults.
2. A total of 20 children and 1,832 adult patients were treated in the financial year 2023/24. This covers all appointments under the multidisciplinary bariatric service.
3. The Trust offers the following tier 4 treatment pathways:
Elective bariatric surgery (we perform sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and occasionally gastric balloons and gastric bands)
Revisional bariatric surgery (surgery for complications of previous bariatric surgery here or elsewhere, including for some patients with inadequate weight loss)
Emergency bariatric surgery (urgent interventions for complications of bariatric surgery here or elsewhere)
Outpatient clinics for patients who have had previous bariatric surgery and have issues that GPs feel warrant tertiary referral support. This includes support from dietitians, specialist nurses, a bariatric physician and psychology – with some multi-disciplinary clinics when many of these specialists review patients together.
4. There were approximately 3,994 patient attendances in the Trust’s bariatric service in 2023/24.

It will be therefore of little benefit to contact our staff directly about such opportunities. Information about procurement and tendering can be found on our website.
