The Macmillan Information Hub at Worthing Hospital provides free information, support and practical help for anyone affected by cancer. Whether you are living with cancer, supporting a loved one, or adjusting to life after treatment, our friendly team is here to help.
We offer a welcoming, non-clinical space where patients, families, carers and friends can access trusted information, discuss concerns and find out about the support available both within the hospital and in the local community.
How we can help
Our team can provide information and guidance on a wide range of issues, including:
- Understanding cancer and its impact
- Emotional wellbeing and support services
- Financial concerns and signposting to benefits advice
- Returning to work or managing employment issues
- Local and national cancer support resources
- Living well during and after cancer treatment
We can also help connect you with specialist services that support your physical, emotional and practical wellbeing.
How you feel more like yourself
Cancer treatment can sometimes affect appearance and confidence. The Macmillan Information Hub offers practical support to help patients feel more comfortable and confident throughout their cancer journey.
Wig support and hair loss advice
We can provide information about wig vouchers and hair loss support through our trusted partner, Aderans and Treloggan Wigs.
Sarah from Aderans visits Worthing Hospital once a month to offer personalised consultations and support for patients experiencing hair loss as a result of cancer treatment.
Appointments can be arranged through the Macmillan Information Hub or via your Cancer Support Worker.
Treloggans are based in Portsmouth and have 36 years of experience. They can help guide you to find the best alternative hair to suit your needs. Strictly by appointment please contact Natalie 023 9266 2156, email [email protected].
Free hats and head scarves
We have a selection of beautiful knitted hats and head scarves available free of charge for patients experiencing hair loss. These are available directly from the Hub and can be accessed without referral.
Look good, feel better
We are proud to work alongside Look Good Feel Better, the cancer support charity that helps people manage the visible side effects of cancer treatment.
Through this partnership, patients can access free skincare and make-up sessions designed to boost confidence, wellbeing and self-esteem in a supportive environment.
Complementary therapies
We can also signpost patients to the University Hospitals Sussex complementary therapies service, which offers a range of supportive therapies to help enhance wellbeing and improve quality of life during and after treatment.
A space to talk
Sometimes the most valuable support is simply having someone to listen. Our team is available to provide a listening ear, answer questions and help you navigate the many challenges that cancer can bring.
No appointment is necessary to visit the Hub, and you do not need to have a specific question or concern. We are here to support you in whatever way we can.
