Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology in the Trust
The Trust participates in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a form of digital technology designed to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence.
AI supports Health and Care professionals in making informed decisions about your care, such as diagnosing conditions or helping you choose treatment options. However, decisions regarding your care are never made solely by an AI system. Health and Care professionals will always review AI-supported insights and provide you with advice to ensure you make the final decision regarding your care and treatment.
An Example of AI Technology Used Within the Trust:
Annalise.ai CXR: This tool is utilized by our chest X-ray reporting staff as a computer-assisted triage system. It enables the timely reporting of scans with significant findings and functions as a software as a medical device (SaMD) for direct patient care.
If you would like more information about our use of Artificial Intelligence technology, please do not hesitate to ask any member of staff. They will be happy to direct you to the appropriate resources and provide assistance.
