May 11-17 is Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s focus is on taking action.
The Mental Health Foundation have chosen Action as this year’s theme because, while awareness is important, meaningful change comes through taking action. Although significant progress has been made in mental health, there is a need to maintain momentum and avoid regression.
Further information about this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme is available from the Mental Health Foundation:

A key highlight of this week is Wear It Green Day on Thursday 14, a simple but powerful way to show support for mental health awareness.
How you can take part:
- Wear something green – from a full outfit to a small accessory
- Start conversations about mental wellbeing with colleagues
- Share photos or messages of support within your team
- Consider organising a small team activity or coffee catch-up
Going green is a visible reminder that mental health matters and that none of us are alone.

Looking after your mental wellbeing doesn’t have to involve big changes. A few small actions can make a meaningful impact:
- Take regular breaks during the day
- Check in with colleagues and offer support
- Spend time outdoors or moving your body
- Make time for rest and activities you enjoy
- Reach out if you need help
Whether you wear green, explore new resources, or simply take a moment to check in with yourself or a colleague, every action counts.
Let’s use Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 as an opportunity to build a more open, supportive, and compassionate workplace for all. 💚
