Biography
Dr Gareth Watts studied medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, graduating in 2011. He completed his Foundation and Core Medical training, before specialising in Acute Medicine. Gareth’s training was done in Sussex and Surrey, and he has worked in both the former Brighton Sussex University Hospital and the former University Hospital Sussex as a junior doctor. During his training, Gareth took up a RCP Chief registrar post at Princess Royal Hospital which helped him develop his leadership and management skills. He completed his training in 2022 and was offered a post at the former University Hospital Sussex.
Professionally, Gareth is interested in service development and junior doctor training and welfare, including rostering. In his free time he is usually busy parenting, but also enjoy walking, cycling, films, and reading a good book. Gareth is a big sci-fi and fantasy fan, and also gaming in all its forms.
