Dr Ian Mann is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who specialises in the management of patients with arrhythmias. He performs catheter ablation procedures for patients suffering with Atrial Fibrillation and other arrhythmias, as well as implanting simple and complex pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders. He works for the NHS at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, and sees private patients at Nuffield Health Hospital Haywards Heath.

Much of his day-to-day work involves the management of patients with palpitations, irregular heartbeats, missed or skipped beats, dizzy episodes and blackouts, and slow heartbeats. He also manages patients with general heart conditions, such as chest pain, breathlessness, and heart failure.

Dr Mann has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). He has undertaken over 500 catheter ablation procedures for AF alone, and completed his PhD at Imperial College London for which he was awarded a prestigious grant to undertake his research from the British Heart Foundation. His PhD research which was directed at developing pioneering techniques to better understand AF, by creating a mapping system to track the electrical activation during AF. He has a number of AF research projects currently ongoing at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, and has published his research in medical journal and presented at both national and international conferences.
