Biography
Dr Ray McGlone qualified at the Royal London Hospital 1980. He trained in general medicine before specialising in emergency medicine. Ray was the first A&E Consultant appointed at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in 1990. He has 23 years experience as clinical lead/clinical director. He is course director for ATLS course and lead of medical students in emergency medicine. He is an examiner for the College of Emergency Medicine. Ray works in research into using low dose ketamine for sedation in suturing children under local anaesthetic.
Ray moved to Chichester in 2019. He initiated a Bier’s Block Service for the management of wrist fractures. He does regular teaching online for A&E local doctors and those he left in the North of England. He is now supervisor for the complaints process for patients to try and improve the service.
