Biography

Dr Ryan Watkins was appointed as a Consultant Neonatologist In 2004, having completed his training in Nottingham, Melbourne and Newcastle upon Tyne. He is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School.

Ryan was appointed Clinical Director for Women and Children’s Services In 2007 and since then has held a clinical leadership role on behalf of children’s services, Including the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.

Ryan is currently Chief of Specialised Services Division across University Hospitals Sussex and remains Chief of Children and Women’s Services at RSCH and PRH.

Ryan has recently been awarded a MSc In Leadership (Quality Improvement).

Ryan Is a Trustee at Rockinghorse Charity, which supports children’s services across University Hospitals Sussex.
