Mr Haziq Chowdhury is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising In Oculoplastic surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundations Trust (UHS). He Leads the Ophthalmic Primary Care and Botox service for blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. He is a keen surgical trainer of Ophthalmic trainees and has been the Royal College Tutor for Ophthalmology at UHS since 2021.
Having graduated from Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine London along with first-class honours for his Intercalated degree in Physiology, he subsequently undertook specialist ophthalmic training throughout London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. This included training at Moorfield’s Eye hospital and further subspecialty fellowships at King’s College Hospital London and Sussex Eye Hospital (Brighton).
Mr Chowdhury regularly treats patients with cataracts, cataract-related conditions, lid malposition/disorders (including eyelids turning inwards or outwards, dropping eyelids, excess eyelid skin removal and eyelid skin cancers), glaucoma as well as those with neuro-ophthalmic and general ophthalmic conditions.
Haziq has been described as being personable, with a kind and calm approach to his patients which enables him to deliver a holistic package of care.
