Assistance provided under Section 16 [duty to assist]on 16 July 2023:
With regard to question 2, this question refers to symptomatic clinics and high risk patient pathways but we have been advised these are two different things.
Symptomatic clinics are related to patients with symptoms who are referred to the breast unit by their GPs.
High-risk patients are referred to Services through a genetics service (due to family history/risk of developing breast cancer) or Breast Screening After Radiotherapy (BARD) Service. High risk patients are offered enhanced surveillance (yearly screening).
These two pathways are completely different.
Do you require the number of patients who attended symptomatic clinics or were invited yearly as part of the high risk programme?
Further to the above regarding question 6, we don’t necessarily record private providers who have offered their services to the NHS, these don’t always come through formal channels and aren’t always followed up.
This information is therefore not held by the Trust and not available under the terms of the Act at this time.
