Our security and car parking team has received several reports of scam messages claiming to be Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for offences allegedly committed on hospital grounds.
These fraudulent messages are typically sent via SMS or WhatsApp from a mobile number and often include the location of the hospital site at the top.
Please note, these are scams. Do not respond or make any payments. At University Hospitals Sussex, PCNs are issued in person with a physical notice placed on the vehicle’s windscreen. Any follow-up regarding payment will only ever be sent by post.
Please report any scam messages received to the security and car parking department. We further recommend reporting the scam messages to Sussex Police through an intelligence report.
