A state-of-the-art 3D cardiac ultrasound machine has been installed at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester thanks to new funding from the volunteer-led charity Friends of Chichester Hospitals.
Costing £142,000, the new equipment will enhance care for cardiac patients. The advanced technology enables scans to be completed up to 50% faster – allowing more patients to be seen each day, while helping to reduce waiting times for scans and the length of hospital stays.
Dr Robert Jennings, Consultant Cardiologist, said: “We are extremely grateful to Friends of Chichester Hospitals for their funding as this new equipment will make a tremendous difference to the way we diagnose and treat many of our patients.”
Richard Stephens, Chair of Friends of Chichester Hospitals, commented: “This funding is only possible by the kind generosity of the local community in the Chichester area. With their continued support, we will be able to provide other vital equipment for St Richard’s.”
Supported by the local community, Friends of Chichester Hospitals is a volunteers-led charity and helps fund vital equipment and services. To offer your support, find out more or get involved, visit https://www.friendsofchichesterhospitals.org.uk/.
