Billie the PAT dog is coming back to the RSCH library!
PAT (Pets As Therapy) is a national charity that enhances the health and well-being of thousands of people in communities across the UK. Their volunteers and temperament-assessed pets visit many places such as hospitals, care homes, hospices and schools bringing smiles to many faces.
Stroking animals, such as cats and dogs, releases endorphins, having a calming effect and therefore reducing stress levels. This is particularly beneficial for patients suffering from dementia or anxiety.
Billie is one of the amazing PAT dogs, and she’ll be visiting the library with her owner Jane on Thursday 22nd February at 12.30pm, so come and say hello and enjoy the therapeutic effects of meeting Billie!
