Best practice for the front door of A&E
The evidence provided helped confirm our direction of travel and gave us confidence to develop a front-door pilot model. It informed a proposal for a GP-led streaming service at UHSX Hospitals and helped shape discussions with executive leads and clinicians, drawing on best practice examples. The findings also supported the move towards embedding a senior clinical decision-maker earlier in the patient journey as part of the wider urgent and emergency care transformation programme.
