We’re very sorry to have to bid farewell to Ivy Mphahlele, who has been the Library Manager at the Dunhill Library in Chichester for nearly three years.
Ivy has been an invaluable member of our team since joining us in 2021. As well as improving the physical library space and leading the Enquiry Desk Team at St Richards, she has facilitated Reflective Writing skills workshops for the Nurse and AHP Preceptorship programme at Worthing and Chichester.
Her positivity, warmth and friendliness will be missed by us and by library visitors, but we are proud to see her move on to bigger and better things; see below for Ivy’s update.
“Today I leave my much loved position of Library Manager at Dunhill library at St. Richards hospital to pursue other interests closest to my heart.
It has been a good journey which enabled me to explore the health and medical body of knowledge; simplifying the complex nature of research resources to support library users, enabling them to navigate and access the full range of knowledge and library services, including those of which they would be otherwise unaware of; and most importantly got to understand how the NHS works.
“Change being inevitable, my role which entailed running the day-to-day business of the library, teaching and coordination of various initiatives to name but a few, successfully went through restructuring processes, different leaderships and system changes which I learnt a lot from and will take it away with me.
“Having been part of the Sussex Knowledge and libraries team since December 2021, I find it difficult to say “goodbye”, not because I am not looking forward to the future but what opportunities and the loving family I am leaving behind.
“Thank you for gifting me with the opportunity and welcoming me to the UH Sussex Knowledge and libraries.
I will miss each and everyone of the team.”
We all wish Ivy the very best in her new adventure!
