This week we say ‘goodbye’ to Lucy Wells. Lucy has been with us as a clinical knowledge specialist since 2021, working alongside teams in surgery, emergency medicine and critical care to facilitate evidence-based practice. In April of this year, Lucy stepped up into an interim senior knowledge specialist role. During her time here, Lucy has significantly increased our support for staff producing systematic reviews and introduced an innovative evidence-based approach to clinical governance meetings. She has had an incredibly positive impact on staff and on patient care.
Lucy will be joining the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare knowledge and library team as their knowledge, skills and systems librarian. Of her time with us, she says
Working at UHSussex has been the making of me. I’m very proud of the work that I’ve carried out with the surgical, ICU and Emergency Medicine teams, from being in M&M’s about Covid during lockdown to co-teaching with consultants about systematic reviews. I’ll miss my clinical teams and library teams immensely but it’s time for me to return to where I first started.
Katie Barnard returns from parental leave this week to take over as our senior knowledge specialist, working to inform corporate projects, co-ordinate our clinical knowledge specialists and oversee the quality of our evidence review services.
