All our libraries have a special collection of books on Health and Wellbeing for the use of staff, trainees and students working in the NHS. The range includes both print and online titles.
The core of the collection is made up of books donated to us by the Jubilee Library in Brighton as part of the Reading Well project. The collection covers a wide range of topics including anxiety, grief, body image, stress, and self-harm. As well as books for adults there are a range of titles aimed at children and young people.
You may be surprised to know the collection includes biographies, memoires and novels, all of which deal with health and emotional issues, or offer an uplifting read.
In the library at the Princess Royal Hospital, you’ll find all the books brought together in a display just by the entrance.
In our other libraries, the books are shelved within the main collection.
Do drop in any of our libraries to see our collection. You can borrow titles of your choice or sit in our easy chairs and look through them.
Check the catalogue for details. We hope that you will find some useful material to help yourself, your family or your patients.
If you know of any book that would be a great addition to our collection, you can suggest it using the form on our website.
Your local public library will also stock a range of books to support your health and wellbeing, just ask your friendly local librarians or search the web for information.
