In October 2025, over 600 colleagues from across UHSussex came together at the City Coast Centre in Portslade for the Trust’s third annual All-Staff Conference. Held over two days, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 October, the event was a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and the Trust’s shared ambition to deliver “Excellent Care Everywhere.”
Our Knowledge and Libraries Team was one of many teams present who helped to play a key role in the conference’s success.
Our team’s presence highlighted the vital role that knowledge services play in supporting clinical decision-making, research, and lifelong learning across the Trust.

Bringing the Strategy to Life
This year’s conference was themed around the Trust’s new five-year strategy, which outlines a vision for delivering outstanding care across all services and communities. The event, supported by My University Hospitals Sussex charity and aligned with Education Month, offered staff the opportunity to explore how they can contribute to this vision through learning, leadership, and innovation.
Trust strategyA highlight of the event was a keynote speech by Dr Jo Salter MBE, Britain’s first female fast jet pilot, who shared her powerful story of resilience and leadership. Staff from across the Trust also took to the stage to share their own experiences, showcasing the incredible work being done every day to improve patient care and staff wellbeing.
