In a move to enhance patient services, we are merging our main outpatient booking systems into a single, centralised call centre.
Patients will now only need to use one number (0300 131 6770) for all main outpatient bookings across our hospitals. This number can be used to change or cancel outpatient appointments and enquire about referrals.
The new call centre uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to efficiently direct patients to the appropriate agent and provides relevant online information when an agent is not necessary. This innovation aims to streamline the booking process, making it more user friendly and accessible.
Furthermore, the new system will transition to a cloud-based platform, moving away from the hospital’s network and enabling better management of call traffic. A redirect from the previous outpatient booking numbers is already in place but we encourage patients to use the new number.
This upgrade represents a significant step forward in our commitment to improving patient care and operational efficiency.
Please note that services booked directly with respective departments (imaging, sexual health, HIV and breast care) will remain unchanged.
