Following a temporary pause to visiting at St Richard’s Hospital due to a rise in norovirus cases, we are pleased to confirm that normal visiting will resume from Tuesday 16 April.
From Tuesday morning, we’re delighted to open our doors once again to visitors across the hospital.
Putting visiting restrictions in place was not a decision we made lightly, and we understand the difficulties these measures caused for our patients and those wishing to visit their family and friends. So, we want to thank the public for your continued patience and understanding during this period, and for helping keep our patients safe.
We must thank our teams who have been working exceptionally hard in these challenging circumstances to prevent the spread of norovirus and protect our patients, so our hospital can return to its normal running.
Whilst normal visiting resumes on Tuesday, we ask the public to be mindful of norovirus in the community and to continue to help keep our patients safe by avoiding visiting our hospitals if you have had diarrhoea, vomiting or ‘flu-like’ symptoms in the past 48 hours, unless it is an emergency, or you have been advised to do so by a healthcare professional.
See more details on our website to find out how you can prevent infection in our hospitals.
