This month, UHSussex featured as the cover story for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s Frontline magazine.
Physiotherapy colleagues discussed the huge improvements to rehab space and patients’ quality of care since they moved into the new facility in the Louisa Martindale Building at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Having moved into the newest clinical building in NHS England, from the oldest operational NHS building in the country, our physiotherapy service has been transformed and includes three rehab gyms with the latest equipment – also featuring a bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom to assist with occupational therapy – and a terrace facilitating outdoor rehabilitation.
This new rehab facility allows our colleagues to deliver high-quality inpatient rehab that improves our patients’ recovery and enables other specialities, such as speech and language therapists, dietitians, and occupational therapists to work better together to support patients.
Read more about these improvements from our colleagues themselves on the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s website.
