Men across our communities, our fathers, partners, brothers and colleagues are facing a significant health crisis. From mental health struggles to cancer diagnoses, men are dying too young, and the silence around these issues is costing lives.
Since its inception in 2003, Movember has funded over 1,250 men’s health initiatives globally, driving innovation in research and reshaping how health services engage with and support men. The campaign has become a catalyst for change, challenging outdated norms and promoting proactive health conversations.
Movember encourages men to grow moustaches throughout November to raise awareness of key health issues, including:
- Mental health and suicide prevention
- Prostate cancer
- Testicular cancer
The goal is to improve both mental and physical health outcomes for men, and to foster a culture where seeking help is normalised and encouraged.
Health professionals play a vital role in this movement. Our health promotion collection includes a range of educational resources including leaflets, anatomical models, and teaching aids which are available for use in staff training and patient education.

The moustache is more than a symbol, it’s a conversation starter. By participating, you help amplify the message that men’s health matters. Whether you’re growing a ‘Mo’ or sharing resources, your involvement makes a difference.
