Tim Vincent, Senior Learning Technologist (BSMS), attended the ASME Annual Scientific Meeting 2025 in Edinburgh recently, representing BSMS and the ASME TEL Special Interest Group. The three-day conference was titled ‘The three A’s of ASME: AI, Assessment & Agency’, indicating key areas of discussion in the world of health professions education.
Tim co-facilitated a workshop with colleagues Dr Jane Williams (Bristol) and Dr Johann Malawana (UCLan), helping fellow educators develop their careers in scholarship in digital education. After sharing overviews of their own career paths in digital education, the team led participants in identifying career goals, barriers and opportunities to develop an action plan for their next steps.
It was great to see the enthusiastic discussion between educators from a range of professions and stages, and particularly encouraging to see many identify common areas of challenge and share experiences of overcoming them.
