When musician Graham Turner, 59, from Worthing could see ‘vividly’ again after a successful eye operation at St Richard’s Hospital, he was inspired to write and produce ‘Out of the Darkness’.
Graham’s eye sight had suffered over the last few years. At the start of the year, he had severely impaired vision in one eye and no vision in the other.
He said: “I was feeling very low. I couldn’t keep busy and create music like I used to and would spend most of my time sitting around at home.
“Then after my operation at St Richard’s hospital, I could see vividly again in one eye. I was so grateful to the Ophthalmology team for the amazing care I received that I was inspired to write and produce the song.”
Ruth Mason, Ophthalmology Matron, said: “All staff who have heard the song love it and say what a wonderful and unique way to say ‘Thank you’.”
