University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust has developed an overarching improvement plan that brings together a range of new and established programmes designed to improve the quality, safety, governance and leadership of services across the Trust.
Some of these areas of focus are about bringing together our predecessor organisations and setting our new trust up for success (e.g. culture). Some are long-standing issues that we still need to resolve (e.g. emergency care and access to surgery). Others are things identified by our regulators and staff feedback (e.g. leadership and EDI).
Making these improvements will ensure we are meeting our patients’ needs in the immediate term and giving everyone – patients, staff, and our partners – the confidence that we are building the strong foundations for our new organisation to progress towards our longer-term goals of providing excellent care every time.
