More letters and correspondence will now be sent digitally through your Patients Know Best (PKB) account and the NHS App. If you are registered for PKB or the NHS App you will no longer receive paper copies of content we upload to your digital record.
This gives you secure and timely access to important documents whenever you need them.
As we roll out the service, you may still receive paper copy letters in the short term.
What is Patients Know Best?
Patients Know Best (PKB) is a secure online personal health record where you can see most of your hospital appointment letters, laboratory results and radiology reports.
If you choose to register, you’ll receive the majority of hospital letters through the platform, meaning all your information is stored securely in one place.
Sometimes when we speak with patients, they can get confused between the NHS app or PKB. Below are the differences between these systems:
Accessing Patients Know Best
Patients Know Best (PKB) can be accessed securely online via the NHS app or the PKB website.
Via the NHS App (Recommended):
- Open the NHS App on your mobile device.
- Go to ‘Your Health’ or ‘Health Data’.
- Select the option to view your record via Patients Know Best.
- The first time, you may need to agree to share your NHS Login information with PKB.
Via the PKB Website:
- Go to the PKB login page.
- Select “Login with NHS login”.
- If you have not received an activation email or invitation, you can activate your account using your NHS details.
