I am currently a Ward Sister at Princess Royal Hospital. I have worked at PRH for over 17 years and within this time I have experienced roles from Student Nurse to Ward Manager, working with a large variety of the wider multi disciplinary team within different departments. This knowledge and experience alongside the relationships with staff I have made gives me a deep insight from different perspectives into what it feels like to work at this hospital. I am enthusiastic, compassionate and open in my opinions, I encourage personal and professional development and continuous improvement in practice.
Most recently I have completed the Professional Nurse Advocate course which has reinforced my passion for developing and ensuring safe high quality care and improvements in both patient and staff experience with a specific interest in staff health and wellbeing. I believe my knowledge, experience and professionalism best places me to listen, understand and relay important themes and widely held experiences back to the board.
By representing the views from the grassroots and explaining clinical context to the board it will enable our leaders to make informed decisions on future plans for PRH.
