David joined the Board in August 2022 with 30 years of experience in financial leadership.
He is Chief Financial and Commercial Officer of John Lyon’s Foundation, which includes the Harrow family of schools and the John Lyon Charity.
Previously, between 2018 and 2023 he was Group Director, Corporate Finance, Tax and Treasury with the BBC, where he was responsible for a number of significant transactions, financing arrangements, partnerships and new agreements in respect of the BBC’s public service and commercial activities.
In addition to his role with the Trust, and separately, he is an independent member of Council at the University of Sussex and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
His career has included roles as a senior Whitehall civil servant, a corporate financier and consultant, with UBS, KPMG and PWC, and as a non-executive director of public bodies. He qualified with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in 1996.
