I became a Public Governor of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust because I believe that the people who came under the larger merged Trust should have grass roots representation at the Board of Governors and be able to hold the Trust Board to task through the offices of the Non-Executive Directors.
I live in East Grinstead, which is located where Sussex and Surrey meet, which makes it very interesting considering the new integration of Health Services, calling for more collaboration with both Councils and other Hospital Trusts.
Wherever possible I try to represent the views of the public and patients as to the services being provided and to question the means of doing so. I take a particular interest in the Princess Royal Hospital.
Since I became a Governor I have witnessed great improvements within our Hospitals.
