Dr Andy Heeps is the Interim Chief Executive of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. He joined the Trust in 2021 and has since played a central role in leading it’s post-COVID recovery — first as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive and now leading the organisation through a period of renewal and improvement within the framework of its new five-year strategy: Excellent Care Everywhere.
Andy has overseen major programmes to strengthen operational performance, recovery and governance. A consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist by background, Andy has worked across London and the South East in both clinical and executive leadership roles. Before joining UHSussex, he was Interim Chief Executive at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.
