A graduate of Oxford, UCL and Portsmouth Universities and fellowship trained at University of Toronto, I have been a full-time Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since July 2012 with an academic interest. I have been PI for several NIHR studies at the UHSussex since 2013 and have active roles in education and research with BSMS, appointed honorary clinical professor in Jan 2020. I gained my PhD in 2017 for my thesis entitled “Optimising the outcomes of lower limb arthroplasty” and have published over 100 peer-reviewed papers. In addition, I have held leadership roles in the KSS CRN since 2013, latterly being the Deputy Clinical Director until March 2024. I am currently Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Royal College of Surgeons of England and a fully qualified (non-practising) GP. With this new role, I hope to engage colleagues to promote research within the Division of Surgery and Critical Care.
