Who are we?
We are a team of Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialists and a Support Worker, specialising in lung cancer. We offer guidance and support from diagnosis and throughout the course of your treatment and aftercare.
We will generally see you in the Outpatient Department. Unfortunately we cannot visit people at home.
We are here to answer your questions and provide expert advice on lung cancer and treatments, however if you are on treatment it is vital you contact your treatment team in regards to plans/ queries and side effects.
We can help you to manage your symptoms and ensure you are in touch with the right support and that you have access to the right services e.g dietitian, physiotherapist, citizens advice or community support.
We are part of a multi-professional team who work closely together to plan and deliver the most effective treatment. If there is anything regarding your care/treatment plan that you do not understand please don’t be afraid to ask. We are all here to help and are also available to family/carers.
Where do we work?
We work at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital.
How to contact us
How can we help?
Our Macmillan support worker is often the first point of contact on the telephone and can provide (non-medical) advice, assistance with appointments’ and investigations and liaise with other health and social care professionals on your behalf.
If your symptoms are serious and you need urgent attention it is more appropriate to contact your GP, 111 for advice or, if the situation warrants it, the Accident and Emergency service at your local hospital.
