Who are we?

We are a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists and a Support Worker specialising in lung cancer. We support patients from the investigation stage (when lung cancer is suspected), through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.

We are part of the team of professionals involved in your care called the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, and we work closely with doctors, health professionals and hospital departments. 

How can we help?

We can:

• Explain tests, results and treatment options
• Provide information about lung cancer and its treatments
• Help you make informed decisions about your care
• Answer questions and discuss any concerns
• Help you manage your symptoms
• Provide emotional support and advice to you and those most important to you
• Coordinate appointments and referrals
• Signpost you to support services and benefits advice
• Act as a link between hospital, community and GP services

How to contact us

If you call, you will need to leave a message on our voicemail service. Please leave your name, hospital number or NHS number (or date of birth), contact number and a message. We aim to return your call or message within three working days.   

Please note, if your symptoms are serious and you need urgent attention, we advise you to contact your GP or, if the situation warrants it, please attend the Accident & Emergency Department at your local hospital.

If you are on Chemotherapy or Immunotherapy treatment and feel unwell, please do not call us, please follow the advice on your Unwell Card. If you feel acutely unwell, call the 24 hour SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment) helpline on 01273 696955 and ask for bleep 6060 immediately.
