Our colorectal cancer teams are involved in the diagnosis, as well as surgical and medical management, of conditions affecting the lower bowel, i.e. the colon, rectum and anus.
Our services include:
- surgical treatment for a number of cancer bowel-related conditions and diseases
- medical treatment (oncology) for colon, rectal and anal cancers
- radiotherapy treatment
- stoma care
- surveillance and follow up.
Where we provide treatment
Major surgery is carried out at Worthing and St Richard’s Hospitals. When our patients need chemotherapy, this happens at all our main hospital sites (Worthing, St Richard, Princess Royal and Royal Sussex County).
Radiotherapy is available at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and neighbouring trusts (Eastbourne and Portsmouth).
Endoscopy and Biopsy services operate from Worthing, St Richards, Princess Royal and Royal Sussex County Hospitals.
Radiology (x-ray and scans) are available across all main site and some satellite sites.
