What does living with MND look like: Art Therapy in Practice
How the MND art therapy project came about
The art therapy project was initiated in 2020 with funding from the West Sussex South Branch of the MND Association. Since 2024, the East Sussex branch also funds sessions for people affected by MND.
The project’s mission statement was to:
Enable those with MND and their wider circle of people, to creatively express the experience of their every day lives. The project aims to:
- Engage people with MND in a personal creative experience
- Allow those involved with the people with MND to add to this experience
- Develop expression through the collection of drawings, art, words and artefacts in whatever form they may take
- Exhibit some of this work on the MND Association website
- Exhibit some of this work as an exhibition in a local venue
