During December 2025 and January 2026, we carried out an evaluation of our Health Promotion Leaflet Service, inviting feedback from people who have used the service within the past year. 39% of those surveyed, responded drawing from a wide range of sectors including hospitals, GP practices, charities and schools. This input is invaluable in shaping the future of the service and ensuring we continue to support communities across Brighton and Hove.
Your Feedback: What We Learned
The results were overwhelmingly positive. Respondents expressed consistent appreciation for the service, in particular the importance of providing accessible, reliable printed health information.
Here’s what you told us:
We have no funding for leaflets or for printing them, so this resource is essential for having leaflets we can share.
There is a cohort of people who would not be able to access health information at all or effectively online, but would pick up a useful leaflet if they saw one.
We would be unlikely to be able to obtain leaflets if this service was not available.
You Said…We Did
Suggestions for improvement included:
More use by public health nurses, a wider range of resources and more up-to-date drug information leaflets.
As a result we are:
- Strengthening our links with health visitors and school nurses
- Continuing to add new resources based on recommendations to our catalogue of 400+ items
- Reviewing and updating the drug information leaflets
Why Your Health Promotion Leaflet Service Matters
Although digital access to health information has grown, printed leaflets remain essential for many individuals and communities. They:
- Support people with low digital literacy
- Offer accessible information during appointments and community outreach
- Help organisations without printing budgets to share vital health messages
- Reach people who prefer physical materials or may not engage with online content
