A dedicated security team at Royal Sussex County Hospital has been awarded December’s Star of the Month for their exceptional professionalism, quick thinking and collaborative teamwork during an incident at the end of last year.

The team, comprising of Tom Vickers, Jordan Winstone, Adam Mehr, and Peter Graus, went above and beyond to ensure the safety of a patient.
Security officers can often be unsung heroes – but they are truly instrumental in ensuring the safety of staff, patients and visitors. They provide a wide range of essential support in sometimes challenging situations.
All our security teams are vital at each one of our hospital sites and we couldn’t be prouder of our incredible colleagues.
The team were nominated by Security Manager, Mark Glicksman (pictured) who praised his team’s quick and professional response to an incident.
Terece Walters, Hospital Nurse Director added: “We are incredibly proud of the team for their outstanding service. Their actions not only ensured the safety of a patient but also highlighted the importance of teamwork and vigilance in our daily operations.”
The Star of the Month programme is now paused in preparation for the 2025 STAR Awards which will be launching next week and is proudly funded by My University Hospital Sussex our dedicated Trust charity.
