How we help
We assess and treat babies, children and young people with many different conditions. We support the medical and surgical specialties within the Alex including orthopaedics, neurology, rheumatology, oncology and respiratory medicine.
We have a team of physiotherapists with specialist staff working in the areas of Cystic Fibrosis, neonates, orthopaedics and chronic pain.
We are open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with an extended service for paediatric inpatients at the weekend.
We offer physiotherapy for musculoskeletal conditions at The Alex for children and young people between the ages of 5-15 and
we also have a satellite musculoskeletal clinic at the Princess Royal Hospital that runs on a Thursday morning for 5-15year olds.
We run clinics for the under 5’s that live in the Brighton and Hove area. In these clinics we triage those with physiotherapy needs and help sign post to other services if needed. More information about this can be found by speaking to your health visitor or contacting the department.
Referrals are accepted via email or letter from consultants, GPs, physiotherapists and health visitors.

We’re based on Level 5 of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (The Alex) in Brighton.
