We also offer a ‘one-stop’ clinic at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester to reduce the number of appointments and you need to attend.
A single visit to the cataract clinic now combines a vision test, ophthalmologist consultation, autorefraction, biometry, topography and surgical pre-assessment.

Southlands Hospital opened as a purpose-built Eye Care department in June 2017. Our unit is designed for easy access and all facilities are located at ground level. Our ‘One-Stop’ clinics in Cataract and Glaucoma reduce the number of appointments you are required to attend.
Our outpatient department includes:
- A main waiting area for up to 85 people, including wheelchair users, providing an extra 20 seats compared to the old department at Worthing
- A dedicated waiting area for children, with baby changing facilities
- 16 multi-function consultation/examination rooms – four more than we had in Worthing
- Specialist imaging facilities
- A fluorescein angiography room
- A laser treatment room
