  Blood tests are one of the most common types of medical test with a wide range of uses. This can assess your general health, check for infections, check how your organs are working, as well as screen for genetic conditions.

• Bowel screening

  Bowel screening aims to detect bowel cancer at an early stage (in people with no symptoms) when treatment is more likely to be effective.

  If you're having day surgery you'll be discharged the same day. This means you can recover from surgery in the comfort of your own home.

  Our dementia service cares for people with existing or suspected dementia with support networks and raise awareness of dementia and its impact.

• Dermatology

  Dermatology deals with skin. We provide specialist-led outpatient clinics, same day minor procedure treatments, and plastic surgeon-led complex surgery.

  We provide specialist services, and personal care for people with diabetes and endocrine problems.

  We offer care to Royal Sussex County and Princess Royal hospital patients with IBD covering medical, nursing and surgical treatments, nutritional support, research and education.

• Intensive care

  Intensive care units (ICUs) are specialist hospital wards that provide treatment and monitoring for people who are very ill.

  Our neurovascular service provides both planned and emergency service for a variety of neurovascular conditions. This involves diagnosis and treatment of abnormalities of blood vessels of the brain and spinal cord.
