How we help
Our orthopaedic paediatric consultants work closely with other paediatric teams to treat fractures, infections and other bone and joint problems in children.
They work closely with the children’s accident and emergency department to treat children with orthopaedic emergencies such as fractures and infections, and with physiotherapy and x-ray departments. They also run the virtual fracture clinic from The Alex children’s hospital. The virtual clinic means that children don’t need to attend as many in person appointments reducing the need for time off school or nursery to attend following a fracture.
All elective outpatient, day case and inpatient surgery for children and young people is undertaken at The Alex by our dedicated team.
Where we are
The outpatients team are based on Level 5c of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (The Alex) in Brighton. Day case admissions are on Level 7 and inpatients on Level 8c.
